DALHART, Texas (Nov. 21, 2016) — Approximately 12,160 contiguous acres of irrigated farmland in the Texas Panhandle will be offered at auction in 12 tracts on December 14, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company marketing the land and conducting the auction.
The land, currently part of the holdings of Wilder Farms, includes 11,646 acres of cropland, with approximately 8,209 acres under irrigation. Most of the land — 11,240 acres — is in Hartley County, with approximately 920 acres in Moore County. The farm is located approximately 15 miles northwest of Dumas and 20 miles southeast of Dalhart.
“This is a really good opportunity for someone looking to purchase a substantial amount of farmland, with a very high percentage tillable and 31 irrigated circles. People can bid on any combination of tracts, or on the entire farm, depending on their needs. Potential bidders may also be interested to know that there’s a lot of demand for this property among prospective tenants,” said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company. Tracts range in size from 640 acres to 1,920 acres.
The property also includes a headquarters location with a shop, apartment and six grain bins.
Schrader personnel will be available at the Dumas Hampton Inn to provide detailed information and accommodate inspections from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, November 28, and from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, December 5. The auction will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, at the Rita Blanca Coliseum, 1219 W. FM 281, Dalhart, Texas, 79022. Online bidding will be available by prior arrangement.
