CHATTANOOGA (February 1, 2017) — Approximately 893 acres of woodlands in eastern Tennessee and Northeast Alabama are being offered in a sealed bid auction, with Woltz & Associates marketing the land and conducting the auction.
The land includes nine tracts ranging in size from 28 to 202 acres, a number of them with merchantable timber, including oak, cherry, maple, ash, poplar and walnut.
“Most of these tracts are located within an hour of Chattanooga, in areas that are noted for excellent hunting of whitetail deer. In fact, we are expecting that owners of adjacent tracts will be especially interested in this opportunity to expand their holdings,” said Charlie Wade, of Woltz.
One tract may be suitable for development, with long road frontage. The Tennessee tracts are located in Grundy, Warren and Bedford counties. One tract is located in Marshall and DeKalb counties, near Scottsboro, Alabama.
“These tracts have very low minimum bids ranging from $375 to $500 per acre, and most of the tracts are located within a perimeter of about an hour,” said Wade. Sealed bids are due on or before 3 p.m. Thursday, March 2. Detailed information on each tract is available at woltz.com. Individuals interested in submitting bids may also call 800-551-3588.
“This land has been commercially managed, and we have provided tax maps, aerial photographs, topographical maps, timber volumes and title reports for each tract. Those who are planning to bid will want to be be aware of access restrictions, which vary from one tract to the next,” said Wade.
