STATESVILLE, North Carolina — Several major residential and commercial land tracts along U.S. Highway 21 North in Statesville will headline a major online auction of real estate set to end Tuesday, Oct. 23. Iron Horse Auction Company will conduct the auction, which will also include tracts in other locations across North Carolina.
The online bidding will open at 8 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, Oct. 16, and end at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 23.
The land along U.S. Highway 21 North/Turnersburg Highway includes just over 125 acres with a combined tax valuation of more than $4.1 million. It is being sold in five tracts, ranging from 59 acres to 1 acre.
“The potential is unlimited along that area. Given the adjacent location of the tracts, it could be that we have different buyers purchasing them or that someone decides to purchase most or all of this land. It would just depend on what plans they have for the land,” said Will Lilly, who is managing the auction.
Lilly said the auction is likely to spur economic activity in the area. “Some of this land is being farmed right now, but most of it is zoned for highway business, which would permit a wide variety of uses that would benefit from the visibility along Highway 21,” he said.
Also selling in the online auction are other commercial and residential properties along U.S. Highway 64 in Statesville, as well as commercial lots and acreage in Statesville, Elkin, Lexington, Hickory and Yadkin County. There is also a residential lot in Jefferson Landing, in West Jefferson, N.C.
Iron Horse Auction Company, based in Rockingham, N.C., provides comprehensive asset recovery and marketing services throughout the region, with an emphasis on live and online auctions of land, machinery and other assets.
