OPP, Alabama (April 21, 2016) — Two large manufacturing plants that were completely renovated but never used will sell in an auction Thursday, May 19, with Granger, Thagard Auctions marketing the property and conducting the auction.
“We have a very unusual set of circumstances in which the owner had big plans for these buildings and completely renovated them, dying unexpectedly before the new venture became a reality. That spells opportunity for someone who is seeking like-new manufacturing or warehouse space. Everything will sell with no minimum or reserve, so people need to be prepared to bid their price, because all of this property will have new owners,” said Jack Granger, president of the auction company.
The buildings include a 44,000-square-foot main building, a 10,000-square-foot warehouse with three roll-up doors, and 5,980 square feet of office space.
“Everything about this was done right, with plenty of paved parking, a sprinkler system, fencing, loading dock, piping for air tools, and with central HVAC at the main facility. And it’s a great location for a manufacturing facility or warehouse, with access to a work force from Andalusia, Enterprise, Dothan, Elba, Luverne and Florala,” said Granger.
The property, located at the corner of U.S. Highway 84 East and Southland Drive in Opp, will be offered in six parcels. “Each of the three buildings will be offered individually, as will surrounding land parcels, which include some nice wooded land surrounding the manufacturing facilities. Bidders can bid on any combination of parcels or on the entirety,” he said.
The auction will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the property.
