Looking to buy a schoolhouse, condo or home? Real estate auction to include more than 25 properties in the Hudson Valley area

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY (Oct. 1, 2009) -- More than 25 Hudson Valley area properties  --  including a school campus, a Catskills resort area condominium, homes, development land and even hunting property  -- will sell at auction Sunday, Oct. 18.

"It's rare to have an auction with such a wide range of properties being offered in a single live auction, and the real estate rebound is already under way. The S&P/Case Shiller home price index just showed its  biggest gain in four years.  This multi-property auction will give investors and home buyers a way to get back into the market just when it's showing new life," said Rob Doyle, president of the Absolute Auctions & Realty Inc., which will manage the sale.

The auction will begin at 1:11 p.m. at  Absolute Auctions & Realty's auction center at 45 South Ave., Pleasant Valley. Registration will begin at 12:01 p.m. It will include properties in Dutchess, Delaware, Sullivan, Putnam, Saratoga, Orange and Broome counties.

Properties to be sold include:

  • A brick schoolhouse and one-story building in the Village of Deposit.
  • Approximately 125 acres in Cochecton.
  • Pine Creek Campground on 42 acres, six miles from Ithaca.

  • A luxury home on a two-acre estate in Poughkeepsie, with a 2,000-bottle wine cellar and attached office with a public entrance.
  • A brick Tudor home  on approximately 22 acres in the Town of LaGrange.
  • A country estate in the Western Catskills in Delhi. The home was built in 1900 and has five bedrooms.
